How about tack welding the bolts into the square tubing, and then threading the nuts on from the bottom? The welds don't have to be big (don't want to undo the heat treat) to resist hand tightening t

And remember to use big ol' washers to distribute the force where it attaches to the floorboards. Using more than two bolts per rail is another good way to distribute the force. Mark Miller

I think I'd look at look at welding long bolts onto the square tubing. On the bottom side, consider using a matching piece of square tubing on each side, or at least u-channel. Flat washers and nyloc
