Could people comment on the learning to autocross article in the recent Sport Car? My question concerns the advice to drive the shortest path through the course and concentrate on the slowest turns r

i didnt read the article, but it is obvious that late apexing has less benefit in autocross because the straights are so short compared to a road race track. remember to late apex you go slower than

I'm too new to autocrossing to figure out the real answer to this, but I have to say there was something about the way that article was written that gave me a headache. It read like one of my usual

Here's what I learned driving low torque, high RPM, RWD cars. You hit those brakes early (but hard and briefly) so you're already off the brake (and maybe on the gas) about the time you start to turn

The basic rules are the same for any driving event. The trick in autocrossing is to look as far ahead as possible to link as many of them together as possible. You basically worry mostly about your t

I always get criticized for driving too exaggerated a line, so maybe there's something to it. Did anybody find an author credit? I didn't see one. Strange that it would be anonymous? phil

One quote that has always come up is that 'autocross is NOT F1'. Spending time/distance to do swoopy stuff is not usually good, in my opinion. I'll usually give up a little entrance/exit speed to red

Slow corners in an autocross don't give you a choice. If you have a light really good handling car that can fly around higher speed corners that advantage is lost on a really slow speed corner. The c
