Babbit bearings can stand a brief loss of oil film with extreem HP where a hard bearing would fail . Early engines used poured babbitt bearings because they were cheap and worked with dip or gravity

You guys have any suggestions on low resistance wheel bearings, or special wheel bearing grease that cause less friction. what about actual rear end bearings and lube oil for the 9" ford rear? By the

We run a Championship Halibrand and have found the "LE" red stuff from Speedway to be our answer. It is really slick and stays on the gears, you can hardly wash it off. As for wheel bearings, GM use
