- Have you looked into diverting rain water away from the house ? The grade doesn't need to be steep, but it does need to slope consistently away from the foundation. So how much water will your sump

- The critical thing to check is not the gallons per hour rating of the pump but the gallons rating based on the size of the pump, the pumping load (basically the lift) and the size/number of batteries

- Mark Don't have those problems here. Well maybe we do. If we go down 2 ft. we hit water. Anyway, how big is your current pump? What about just getting an inverter and hooking up a car battery to it?

- FYI, I've been in over 6,500 homes. EVERY home I've ever seen with a basement water issue was due to surface water running into the basement. Randall's suggestion is spot on in my experience. Larry H
