I have heard the kick panels and door tread pieces are made of aluminum. Mine have a number of spots similar to rust. I have tried cleaning them with various polishes to little avail. Is this a commo

The kick panels and tread pieces are anodized. This is a coating that bonds chemically with the aluminum like those aluminum bodied mag-light flashlights. Ideally these should be chemically stripped
