Jonathan, You can use regular sockets on an air ratchet. Many times, they are the only thing you can use because of the thin walls. Impact sockets are thick wall and won't reach into tight spaces. I

I would recommend using six sided instead of 12 sided sockets that usually come with hand tools to minimize damaging the nuts. Also, impact sockets tend to be heavier walled to tolerate the multiple
