I revcently purchased an air powered grease gun. It came with a short metal nozzle. Is it safe to replace this with the common rubber whips to gain some flexibility or will the air pressure blow out

Hi Ron, The air powered model supplies about the same actual pressure to the grease as the leveraged mechanical pump linkage would. Any of the standard fittings, hoses, etc. should work just fine. I

Should be no problem, as long as the zerk isn't blocked. A standard hand gun will put out more pressure than an air gun anyway. Any place that sells grease guns should also sell various extensions.

I replaced the metal tubes with the rubber whips and new couplers on both air powered grease guns a few years ago and have had no problems with either of them. Do not throw the metal pipe away. Leav

I've found that a couple of 45 degree 1/8" pipe ells come in handy sometimes, too. Basically a swivel joint, but stiff enough to push the coupler on at an angle. Ah yes, better living through Chemis

I have always wondered: How much greasing to you have to do to make it worthwhile to buy and use an air-powered grease gun? I mean, it usually takes me only a few seconds to do a typical grease nippl

My "I'm glad I have it" moments come when my body is in an awkward position under a vehicle with one hand holding the coupler on the zerk and the other hand holding the gun in some bizarre position.

I've gotto agree with Arvid about the handiness of the pneumatic grease gun in odd positions, but there was a bigger concern for me. I suffer from arthritis and painful tennis elbow, and the pneumat

Doug, I've never thought it was worthwhile for doing a "normal" car. Recently did my first lube on a big diesel motorhome, and used more than a tube to grease that mother and its 20+ zerks. That's wh

High-pressure grease hoses exist. Most shops have a grease pump sitting on a 120 lb grease drum, with a 10 or 30 foot hose connecting the pump to the gun. You can get shorter bits. On the other hand,
