I found a bottle of 'MetalPrep' at a specialized paint store for $10. You mix with water 50/50 and put in parts for a few minutes - goes into the pores and preps surface for better primer adhesion. S

I found the same thing at a local hardware store for $3. Must be a smaller bottle. I'd give up on trying to find it, but just happen to walk down the right aisle. Look near other paint prep products.

If you check with any auto. paint/body supply store, they should caryy a product called "PPG # 579 Metal-Prep", mix it 4/1, cost is 5.00 a qt., the very best rust remover, metal cleaner/prep I have e
