What are the list's thoughts about welding the clutch fork to the cross shaft. Will I have to cut the shaft to remove/replace the clutch release bearing if I weld it? Seems for the cost of a shaft an

Don--The clutch operating shaft has to come out the side of the case in order to remove the fork, T/O bearing and such. Welding the fork to the shaft will certainly take the load from the fork pin, i

Here is another gem I saved from Brian Schlorff (Power British) when I used to subscribe to the big triumphs list: The fundamental engineering problem with the clutch fork is simply this: The pin is

Hmmmm.... Maybe adding a taper pin is not as hard as I thought. This is from Nelson's Buckeye stuff. The reamer is only $9.50. I had expected this would be much more involved than it is. I'm not a ma

My DPO welded the folk to the cross shaft. The welds were so crappy that they eventually broke, allowing the fork to move on the cross shaft. The movement was limited, so the clutch still worked som

Are you saying the bolt solution is superior to Nelson's additional taper pin, or just as good and a little easier? In Nelson's additional taper pin he threads the small end and nyloc's it. Are you
