I've no direct experience, Karl, but that statement worries me. "Xenon" bulbs are still incandescent halogen bulbs, and like all incandescent bulbs, nearly all the power input comes back out as heat

I replied directly that I'd probably go with small-tube 110V incandescent, because it still seems to be the best tradeoff; all the low-voltage systems I've seen run hot, use inefficient transformers

That's a lot of cabinets! You can get 110V or 12V undercabinet halogen lights. The 12V variety come with a small in-line transformer. The disadvantage of the transformer is it emits some RF interfere

I'd like to know where y'all are getting the under-cabniet lights. bith home depot and lowes carry only the 'consumer' plug-in model kits. I'd like to be able to buy 20 or so lights and hardwire them
