my '76 tr6 has original aluminum trim rings painted a flat silver. while they look pretty bad after 23 years, it's hard to imagine them looking alot better when they were new. if i keep them original

TR6 rings - painted? I also have a '76 which is 99.9% original and my trim rings are not painted, they just have a polished aluminum finish. I can't understand how your rings got painted (DPO?). The
