Slippage in the magic part-time transfer case. Normal, a little hard on steering parts. Don't do this. Full-time locks the center diff, and you're fighting the turn difference between front and rear.

Kevin and Scott, I use my 4wd Durango plenty up here in snow country. In the Durango, it says "Part Time" in any of the true 4WD modes. Yes, there are 2 ranges, High and Low 2WD and High and Low 4WD.

I agree, and emphasize care in selecting trailer. Two wheel could barely handle 1500 lb car, but 4 wheel is much more stable and has plenty of tire capacity reserve. Good trailer brakes are a must. D
