- Generally speaking - there's no way to remove a piston from the bottom of the bore. The "webs" in the block for the cam bearing surfaces more or less make this impossible. What you really need to do

- The pistons can only bé removed from the top, and as another listér pointéd out, dislodge thé rod from thé crank 1st. If thé rod béarings aré siézed to thé crank, you might bé réady for a néw cran
