It is indeed aluminum. I've seen 2 or 3 others in almost 20 years of ownership, all late 59s/early 60s and very original from the factory. My comm number is 65107L. Bill Piggot has referenced it in

I remember seeing some of these (cast aluminum w/s posts) on some of the last TR3A's/B's. My recollection is that they were just very highly polished not chromed. It seems to me there were some mount

The few I've seen were right around the 60,000 mark in production. The stanchions, stanchion plates, and the tenon plates are the same as used on the chrome windscreen frames. It's the 2-piece Tenax
