Hi Ray, I just installed newly refurbished horns on my '3a and one of them had a stuck "plunger" rod. Since this the actuator of the vibrating disk it might be worth checking to see if it moves freel

You could also try to clean and adjust the contacts, free up the bushing with a little "3 in 1" or similar penetrating oil and check the ground. See Bently manual, P 329-330. Did wonders for mine. In
