Just finished the restoration of my 59 TR3A. Had hoped that an annoying habit of the speedo needle to fluctuate in about 10 mph degrees while driving would be sorted out upon reassembly. Not so. I do

A worn cable can also cause this symptom. That was the fix on my TR3A. Jim TR3A

Mine was doing this and only needed a clean and lube to resolve. If you have not done so, remove the cable from it's housing (can be easily removed from speedo end) clean and lube. Can then be eased

I do have a TR4 speedo, in Tom, I would bet heavily on the speedo cable. I had a similar symptom and I found that the speedo cable down by the gearbox was baked and brittle from heat and the casing
