- CD954L leaks petrol. DPO repaired with fibreglass. It didn't hold. The tank is empty, and out of the car. Question 1 is, what should I do to keep it from blowing up, so I can safely bring it into the

- I had a leaky tank last fall on my Spit. After three attempted repairs with bazing torch amd solder, I gave up and replaced the tank. But, I flushed with water to remove fumes and didn't manage to b

- I have heard--but definitely don't hold me to this--that putting dry ice in the tank makes it safe...i.e. dry ice "melts" into CO2 and entirely fills the tank, displacing any air for combustion. Isaa

- Tanks seem to be a pain... it's tough to get 'em clear enough to weld on, and I'd be way careful about bringing in to the house.... ATL is still in business in Ramsey, they might make a fuel cell or

- Gas fumes linger. In an empty tank, they could send you to the Great Beyond. To be safe, you need to have it filled with water to displace any fumes. I think having it near a furnace is basically a b

- What about the baffles in the tank? Can the bladder go around (I doubt it...) or do you remove them? However, I bet a fuel cell would be fine... but I don't know too much about them; only seen pictur

- Never remove the baffles. 2 reasons 1. You will make the holes worse. 2. They are in there for a purpose. (You'll run out of gas in hard turns)

- The tank for your TR250 is the same as that used on the TR4 and TR4A. I have a 1966 TR4A donor car which has been supplying parts for a TR3A rebuild. I'm in the process of clearing out garage and sh

- I can offer up a slight difference between the TR4 gas tank, and the TR4A/TR250 tank. The TR4 tank is vented and uses an unvented filler cap. TR4As and TR250s rely upon vented gas filler caps. Ask me
