I guess this is "Triumph Special tool day" on the list. The best tool is a press specially designed to compress those springs. I certainly wouldn't recommend doing it on the car. I also don't think

I assume you are speaking of the coil spring compression tool? I recently changed the front shocks and springs on my '80 spit. Thinking that the compression tool would be used once (maybe twice) in

I was able to use a hyd. press.Did'nt need the hydralics,this press has a manual hand crank for taking up slack and that had enough force to allow me to undo the keepers on the bottom.you have to ma
