Hi all, Someone mentioned to me a while back to try shortening the tach cable to correct the inaccurate tach reading (sorry I forgot who that was but thanks). I believe that is the solution but I hav

Take a close look at the inner cable. You'll notice it's actually a spiral of small wire, just like the casing When rotating, it wants to screw itself down the length of the outer jacket. Two things.

OTOH -- when I put my TR3 back together after having it apart for about a year the tach cable was not long enough. Same tach, drive & cable all worked fine before. Had to make a little square piece t

Stop and think about that for a minute. If if helps, walk over to the bolt bin and grab a bolt. Notice which way the spiral goes. Turn it around end-for-end. Notice the way the spiral goes. Phil Eth
