- These products are available. I bought one about 4 years ago mail order from somewhere. It is about 1/8" thick aluminum and works well, though you do have to keep the wood moving to avoid burning it.

- Since saw bearings and housings are not designed for side loads and scattering of abrasives, I don't think I would do this. A used table sander is a lot cheaper than messing up a precision tool like

- No, there's very little side load if used properly . . . & Sear's sold it for use on their own saws. Yep, that's what I used also, but maybe I let it get a little too hot 'cause it was hard to scrape
