I have a novice question.. what is the difference between: Street Touring Street Touring S I wrote ST down on my card thinking it was "street touring" but then I was afraid I was in "street tire" but

Unfortunately, there are THREE interpretations for the letters "ST." First, there are two Street Touring classes, "S" and "R." "S" is for Street Touring cars on street tires, and "R" is for Street To

Thanks Pat! I'll be sure to put STS down next time. =) I was confused because the standings posted for the july 15th event had results in: Street Touring AND Street Touring S but none for Street Tour

Or it could be "ST" stands for "STR." Probably that's it. It's clearer to the scorer (me) if folks put STR rather than ST. Then there's no question which class the driver wants. :) --Pat K

It could be Ray has eliminated STR without telling me...I really don't know. At SFR events, we run all both STR and STS. Depends on the tires. I don't know where an STR class car would run in Sac Cha

I don't think anyone in the Street Touring standings where running "R" tires that day.. and if they where, maybe that's why I got 4th place with my street tires.. hehe =P ahhh, it's all so confusing.

Agreed, except for one small detail: "ST" needs to be followed with a slash / and then the base class for figuring the class position, as in ST/BS, for instance. --Pat Kelly
