To my knowledge, the VIN should not be stamped into the car anywhere. Stamped numbers are usually body numbers which differ from the VIN. I would have to check books (or my car) at home to see what #

Indeed, so does my car (a '67)! Horler's book "Original S&M" :) makes it sound like this wasn't done until Jan 1969, when VIN tags on the dash became mandatory. Of course, maybe this wasn't done on "
