Dear All, Many thanks to those who replied with comments and suggestions to my message of yesterday. I did play with the fuel supply and tuning today, and found that the rear carb was set very lean.

On the 'hunting' thing, I'd be inclined to suspect an air leak in the intake system somewhere. Suspects could be the throttle shaft where it goes into the carb - the carb housing can get worn after
