A worn out pressure cap wouldn't cause the car to overheat. After my waterpump gave up the ghost on my way home from the Glen one year I ran w/the pressure cap loose so no pressure would build up and

Is he sure this temp is accurate? The electrical gauge may be telling mistruths. Maybe if you forget to take the cap off first :-) Never had a problem filling mine. NOTE: many aftermarket thermostat

My 70' 1600 over heated a month ago on a trip to Julian. It appears that the coolant was being pumped out to the overflow and then out of the overflow. ( an expesive cuppacino machine). I had to stop
