I was referring to the more radical cars in P/M. I do agree with your point with regards to a CM car. They are not cheap, but if maintained and driven right, they are almost bulletproof. My point wa

Kuhmo We'd get between 40 and 80 nationally-competitive runs out of a set of Formula Ford tires, and they cost roughly $600/set including mounting. I used to run CM at Pros regularly, from '93-'97. A

"by and large Prepared and Mod guys don't run Pros. The reasons for this mystify me, as I find Pro's to be the best type of autox available, but there it is." It's not mystifying, ask the Prep/Mod gu

Just for the record, I'm a Prepared guy that runs Pros. To be fairly brutal, that mostly sounds like whining. I could say the same things about "standard" autox courses. Well, indexes are out now (e

In my opinion the main reason you don't get a lot of Prep/Mod cars at Pros is that, at least here on the west coast, it's difficult to get enough cars to show up to meet the 5 cars/class minimum. If

IMHO, I don't think Prep/Mod guys don't participate in Pros because they have always been geared towards the Stock/SP classes. The largest deterrent was the fact that P/M guys had to run on an index.

I ran one Pro in 2000 and was bumpep to run against the F125 karts. I thought that was a serious rip. I am going to do them again this year because I really like the format. I may be bumped again to

This is not true at all, at least not in C mod. We would get just as many runs out of a set of Hoosier R25 slicks as I get out of a set of Hoosier autocross radials on the Miata, if not more. When it

I agree with Alan. CM in a Pro Solo is a lot of fun, on essentially any likely Pro Course. In the East and Midwest, the most fun years for CM were roughly 93 - 95 or so. Lots of cars with lots of cur

Try a CM Formula Ford. Race clutches can last for years. New slicks are about $600 per set (compare that to trying to keep tires on an SS, AS, or FS car) and you really never "wear" them out. The car
