- Not too much humidity here - we got our first rains in, oh, a year or so this last week. I doubt if the zink is necessary here before powdercoating...bare steel stays pretty shiney all by itself in

- At least you are dealing with a honest powder coater, but I would take out the "may"... Powder coat is paint applied in powder form. You can't use it over rust and expect it to last. Get rid of the r

- I also endorse chrome paint. I'm getting bumpers and grill and some other small stuff rechromed, but as the chrome shop wants quite a lot for any part, no matter how small, I had to draw the line so

- I want to discourage you from powder coating the oil pan, unless you completely block off all internal areas that are exposed to oil. I had it done, and the sandblasting media got trapped in the baff

- As I recall, originally this plate isn't painted. I doubt the thickness the powdercoating would add would be troublesome but remember that the plate thickness determines other clearances... -- John
