- I assume it has an SU fuel pump. Does it seem to click for a God-awful long time when you switch the ignition on? If so then the fuel delivery path between the tank and the carburetor venturi were p

- Why yes...it does. When you release the starter, the pump continues to click away, slowing all the while, and finally stopping. Thanks for your tip -- I'll start at the pump and move forward. P.J.
