Congratulations, BUT, IMHO if you want to swap engines PLEASE DO NOT sacrifice an original, low mile, matching number car for that purpose. There are plenty of engineless or blown engine low-windshie

There's always going to be the inevitable "kid with the Pinto who wants to own a Mercedes" syndrome. Sad, but people will swap engines deluding themselves on what they really own. eric

Yeah you're right. Probably the worst of these types was that Shelby guy. Imagine sticking a V8 into an AC Ace of all cars! And then to want to put a big block Ford in there to boot. Well as you say.

Yeah but Shelby didn't destroy a limited production 30 year old car to build each Cobra. He helped keep Bristol producing Ace's. I don't think any of us would mind if somebody took a 1999 Nissan What

Here's my 2 cents. I'm sticking a U20 in my '66 roadster. I bought my '66 last November because it had an original matching 1600 engine, "freshly" rebuilt. The PO knew that I would keep the car in it

I think Fred has the right idea. I was used to U20 performance, having driven a '69 2000 for 10 years or so. When it came time to either rebuild the R16 in my '66 or do something else, it was a no-sw

An good condition original car is one thing, my '67 starting point wouldn't have interested most as a parts car, so I feel no remorse in doing what was necessary to put a 72 240z motor in it. A proje

Let me clarify one thing, my comments were not to the subject of whether or not to modify a particular car, or whether an all original, matching numbers car was a good candidate for an engine swap,

My 2 cents. " Enjoy the Ride" Do what you like, as long as it is safe. My PO cut the X member out when he had the body off. Phil -- Philip Erickson Phone: (619) 622-7963 San Diego _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
