Yes, I've done it several times. Be sure to cover the crank journals when you pull the liners, so the crud doesn't get inside the oil passages; and of course clean the dickens out of everywhere else

Bill, why do you think this is a piston problem ? Normally, when the 'wet' reading doesn't increase dramatically, the problem is in the valves (burnt exhaust valve). Might be worth a peek under the
