My odometer has quit working. The speedometer still works so the cable should be good. I tried to remove the instrument from the dash, but can't get the cable unscrewed from the back of it. It is too

Been there Done that. On my 75 I couldn't access the cable from up top, so I unhooked the driver side air register and laid on my back, under the steering wheel , my head at the gas pedal, not a comf

Thats how I get to mine also. Be careful not to damage your console or seat while you're upside down. You can sometimes get a little more slack by pushing the cable from the transmission from underne

I would suggest one of two things -- first, unhook from the tranny and get enough slack to get it out or, gulp, second, cut the damn thing (I hate suggesting this). Which ever you choose, by all mean
