In the book "Performance Tuning the Sunbeam Tiger" the author suggests using acetone as an octane booster. Would this work and would it damage the fuel system. This book is known to contain some dubi

Can anyone recommend/not recommend any of the OTC octane boosters? LBC content: My AH3000 runs fine on 92 octane "super" unleaded, but my `79 Subaru with a 1600cc opposed four pings badly under load.
