I have the $100 Radio Shack handheld, battery powered, CB radio. I also bought the mike/speaker attachment that clips to your collar and places the speaker close to your ear (makes a big difference).

You would also benefit by modern, graphite type ignition wires. They don't act like a transmitting antenna for the high voltage as do a simple regular conductor type wire of that period. Perhaps you
