If you have a 40 thou overbore on your cylinders, do they remove 40 thou from the diameter (= bore of the engine) or from the radius (half of the bore distance) of the cylinder? Thanks, Dennis.

I don't have an authoritative answer, but I always assumed that it was the diameter. The idea is measure cylinder, bore it out, remeasure and the difference of the measurements should be 0.040 (modul
