There is still no news on this, as Carly is in several pieces at the moment. The rear spring was certainly part of the problem, but whether it was responsible for the whole problem will not be ascert

My '77 is the same. The body also leans heavily to the driver's side, and a bit to the back (i.e. driver's side rear quarter is the lowest part of the car; passenger side front quarter is highest). T

Both are actually possible, as are a few other causes. Let me see if I can explain it at all. Lets start with the rear spring. We'll use a simplified spring, with just one leaf that breaks completely

The driver's side is low? You might try simply swapping the left and right spring+shock assemblies. It's a lot easier than replacing the springs, since you don't have to mess with a spring compressor

Try swapping the springs first. Your sway bar may be "twisted" also! Take it out, lay it on a flat surface, it should be "flat". If not, turn it over so that the drivers and passengers sides are reve

Unfortunately flipping the sway bar cannot help. If one side is high, when you flip it it will make the other side low, and you will be back where you started. Doug Braun '72 Spit /// /// spitfires@a

Those numbers sound like mounted and loaded numbers, which really don't tell anything about the springs themselves. The only way to measure coil springs effectively is to remove them and measure thei

If the problem is caused exclusively by mismatched front springs, then the problem will promptly reverse itself when the spring&shock units are swapped to the opposite side. However, your weight in t
