If your objective is to clean parts, diesel fuel works just as good. If you want to burn it in a heater, be sure you get K-1 Kerosene.

Now that is a scary thought, I have never had any problems getting kerosene here in S. Cal. I go to my neighborhood Orchards Supply and buy it in 5 gallon cans for my kerosene heater in the garage.

Back when I had a diesel I used to mix in some kerosene during the winter for easier starting. I found that many Texaco gas stations had both a kerosene and a diesel pump.
