Hi Don Castrol XL was a straight 30 grade oil ie not multi grade and it was also used for engines before the multigrades were introduced, usually during the summer in the UK where ambient temperature

I have an ENV 75 Riley version in my NA I use SAE 20/50 The oil level comes from a plug on the side of the box marked with the letter A. Remove it and fill the box until oil starts coming out of the
