On a hot day my TD's temperature gauge gets up to 212. All I know is that this is above the thermostat rating of 190. Is something wrong if the temperature gets above the thermostat rating? What temp

My TD runs hot like yours when it is hot out ... I switched to Redline Water Wetter 2 years ago, I think it made a difference !!! The faster I drive the hotter it gets, dropping in temperature when

Sounds like maybe the rear passage in the block may have an obstruction. Its hard to clean out that passage that goes accross the block without a tear down. I've had three TD"S - none have ever run

The TD does not have a pressurized cooling system so the maximum temperature it can reach is the boiling point of whatever you are using for a coolant. If it's pure water at sea level then that's 212
