Terry - When I had my heater core redone by the local radiator shop, it came back unpainted. They said that if they had painted it, it would begin to smell when it heated up. So, I too am interested

The core is clamped between the bottom housing (where the grille and doors are) and an upper plate. Note the relationship between the housing and the upper plate, then find a place where you can res

When I had my heater core rebuilt the radiator shop would not paint it with radiator paint because they said it would smell when it got hot. They recommended painting it with Krylon paint. -- Best re

For cars in general, heater cores are left bare for better heat transfer. Copper rads are only painted to prevent corrosion. Harold
