About a year or so ago Grassroots Motorsports did a series of improvements on an MGB engine and dyno'd the effects, and found that the stock exhaust manifold is a very efficient design. It said that

Hey Jason, Check out Grassroot's Motorsport from last year, they did a test on exhaust on a B last year. Volume 20, Number 1. They found that the stainless exhaust took away 1HP. And that most of the

Grassroots Motorsports found that the stock manifold did a very good job. And given that headers usually require quite a bit of fiddling to get them to fit correctly, you may just want to stick with

Jason, most folks consider the stock exhaust manifold to be a pretty good design, other than being kind of heavy. You could probably save yourself the cost of a header by hooking up the aftermarket s
