- I torque them to 80, put everything together, crank the car and let it get up to temp, turn off , let cool a little bit and retorque. Only lost one headgasket with this procedure but that one had 16

- I think I'll use your method. I know that the head has been shaved and I'm close to 9:1 besides, I already know the rope trick so I can get it back off if needed. Thanks again to all list wizards! B
