Does anyone know why the F1 crowd is having such problems with the HANS device? It may just be the extra media coverage that F1 gets but I'm left with the impression that a significant percentage (10

Just a guess, but might the extremely reclined position of F1 drivers, with their feet often on the same level or higher than their hips, be causing problems keeping the HANS device located properly?

Maybe - but F1 drivers are no more reclined than most single seat cars of the last 30 years (and less so than 40 years ago). Certainly they are more reclined than NASCAR or 1959 Turners but Jim Down
