So we need to put in a (non-paved due to cost) driveway to the (future) shop. We'll have a contractor out for septic work anyway, and were talking with him about doing the driveway at the same time.

I'm not really sure I understand the question... The $80/hour covers him on his machine running it to do work. I think its split up into $60/hour labor and $20/hour machinery. Yeah, that's my impres

I bid out work for a living... any job that you can see all four sides on can be a hard money price... he should be able to easily calculate the amount of gravel/limestone/etc.. with a tape and calc
