I use a mixture of both, drawers and hanging. For hanging I recommend that you use plywood on the walls and skip pegboard. Most tools, sockets, and wrench's have holder that can be screwed into a ply

Drawer and shelf oriented. I have a lot of drawers and I also use wire shelves that dont collect dust. I used to have pegboard for the small stuff but moved away from it.
