I am trying to remove the gearbox extension housing from the gearbox on my 76 tr6. I have disconnected the speedo cable, removed the pin bolt, and removed the six housing bolts. I can only get the ho

You need to pull the speedometer drive gear out. Usually the easiest way to do that is put the cable back on so you can pry against the edge of the 'nut' with a screwdriver. Without the cable there i

Thank you for your help, but it still doesn't want to come off. I removed the speedo gear and it will still only move about 1/2". I whacked it with a rubber mallet a few times, but still no luck. Sho

You are not forgetting anything, but there is a bearing pressed onto the end of the tail shaft, and it will not just slip off! I used a 2 jaw gear puller. I looped some wire through the rear housing
