- for #1-I would recommand putting a larger and better fuel filter in line (before the fuel pump, if it's outside the tank), and just run it for a while-I had gotten a car from a junkyard (a camaro),

- No idea about #1, but SU's really only need to be rebuild if a) the throttle shafts are worn and loose in the bearings, b) on HF series, if the line from the float bowl to the jet is deteriorated, or
