Ok, the test results are in. A 10:1 mixture of distilled water and Zerex Racing Super Coolant does a better job of cooling than a normal 50-50 mix of anti-freeze and water. With the antifreeze / wate

To more or less corroberate Ken's results, I bought two quarts from the case he purchased last year, and used this stuff in my freshly rebuilt engine. I have a new 190 degree thermostat, new wiring h

I'm a fairly new spitfire owner having purchased a 79 spit in non running condition two months ago. I've been driving it for about two weeks. I've noticed that the engine temperature gauge usually ru

I guess I ought to make Haynes my bedtime reading from now on. My temp gauge never even gets to the 1/4 mark. I just thought it never got hot but I guess I should now read this to mean that the ther

Don't worry about the low reading. The sender unit and gauges are uncalibrated items and are there only to give an indication of the temperature. It is more likely to be the sender unit in the water

My temp gauge only gets up to 3/4 when it's 90 outside and I'm running at 4500 rpm (80-85mph) for 30-40 min. Otherwise, it usually stays between 1/4 and 1/2. Laura G. and Nigel -- Original Message -
