- We discovered cracks in the floor of the trunk and a PO's attempt to repair damage from an apparant rear end collision during our gas tank removal project today. There is a long, almost gaping crack

- That's a common problem in these cars as the trunk floor is too thin and the bends don't help the problem. I suggest you bring it to a body shop or welder and have them weld new metal in like I did.

- Yep, I found the same problem on mine when we went through the body years ago. Discovering that the gas tank was basically suspended by only the filler hose on the right side kind of freaked me out.
