I'd suggest replacing both ends, so that the rear braking power is increased as well as the front. I should know these numbers, but the Spit rear drums are something like 7.5" in diameter, while the

Yes, they are. Not including the very late "swing-spring" GT6s (1973, with slightly wider[?] self-adjusting rear brakes), GT6s ran an 8" rear drum -- same as the Herald FRONT drum -- while Spitfires
