It depends on the year, I think. I know that the original Federal dashes in '69 (with the speedo and tach in front of the driver) were in fact, black plastic. Then in either '70 or '71 (maybe later,

The black moulded plastic dash is out of a MK IV, from 1970-1972. Apparently there were two types - one laminated plastic on wood, the other fully moulded. I have the moulded variety in my 71 MK IV.

this black plastic dash was on my spit 1970 mkiv....i think it was factory that year.......might be a good base for a hot rod look....adding carbon or colored fiberglass.... geo

I vote for carbon. I'm finishing up a carbon fiber dash that looks great (if I do say so my self). Grass Roots did this with the Ro-Spit. The gage bezels have been changed to silver which works real
