My TR-250 has two large rubber plugs in the floor pans. I presume 4's and 6's have them as well. What are the holes they plug used for? The only things that come to my mind are letting water out and/

not sure this applies to your question, but i'm told that the Triumph Italia (triumph chassis, italian body) has a feature that allows the car occupant to put the jack thru an opening in the floorboa

Most likely these are manufacturing tooling holes used to locate the floor pan in place while adjoining pieces such as rockers and quarter panels are brought to place prior to welding all together.

The big advantage to the inside jacking points is that the frame on the 3 is so low that with a flat tire you're left with precious little space for slipping a scissors jack under there. Geo Hahn 59

George, you're right. My point was that the floor pans on the TR4/4A/250/5/6 are identical. The jack in the TR4 and the jacking technique used for the TR4 were based on the TR3 method. But the floor

Yup, you are correct Tom. The big plugs hide a bracket on the frame that the original jack was to fit into, allowing you to jack the car from the plush comfort of your seat, I suppose. I am not sure
